About Us
Starting in 1985, rather than simply digitising old fashioned/ traditional pencil and paper psychometric systems, Mindmill’s assessments were the first to be designed from the ground up for computer based testing. This brought a revolutionary new aspect to the field allowing for more scientific analyses and outputs by making use of metrics such as response times and response styles not currently in use by traditional tests. The next revolutionary step came in 2008 with the migration of the Mindmill systems to the cloud allowing for massive scalability and global deployment.
Our systems help companies with attracting, recruiting, selecting new talent and managing performance. Whether local, national, or international - our technology platforms take revolutionary steps towards a more effective, digital talent management & acquisition process. Whether you are guiding young minds through the career landscape, recruiting a new team member or developing your next star, it all starts with the role. Mindmill ensures we understand the specific role and which innate competencies are required to be successful. We measure individuals against those competencies scientifically and free from bias.
Our Psychometric Testing Solutions are strategically crafted to cover diverse areas of evaluation offering a thorough and scientific review of natural abilities. Knowing that each applicant is different in their assimilation and execution capacity, we match individual behaviours, motivations and technical competencies to careers or roles, ensuring the best suited candidates enter your talent pool.
Mindmill History
The assessments themselves were developed in the mid 80’s when Professor Sidney Irvine was approached by the British Army & US Air Force to devise an assessment methodology to aid recruitment and selection within a Military context; Professor Irvine created the British Army Recruitment Battery (BARB). Working closely with Raymond Christal, they continued investigations into technology, psychology and data; translating people's diverse characteristics into easy to understand, easy to action solutions.
Towards the latter part of 1990 these tests became commercially available for recruitment, retention and development decisions. Our commitment to diversity and inclusion permeated throughout everything we did, from our products to our people. Rebranded to Mindmill in 2008, the original 1986 on-premises application was upgraded to an online assessment portal, designed to offer secure and scalable assessment solutions globally. We believe that the right people, in the right positions, in the right environments, at the right time are key factors managers should consider in their endeavours to meet organisational performance.
