Aflac Pega Development Academy

At Aflac we help our customers in the US and Japan cover medical expenses beyond their standard health insurance, and when they come to us they really need us. So, in Belfast we are building a Technology and Cyber Security Centre of Excellence to deliver innovative solutions to support these customers in their greatest time of need.

We want to empower our employees with the skills needed to work on cutting edge technology in an environment where innovation is at the forefront of our thinking. Initially we are going to be building digital customer experience solutions using Pega, the industry-leading customer engagement cloud software, that leverages the power of robotics and artificial intelligence. However, as industry evolves we will become one of the most adaptive technology organisations, always staying one step ahead of the curve. That’s why at Aflac Northern Ireland we are looking for people who are adaptable, resilient and motivated to learn new technology. During the Academy you will become certified in developing applications using Pega, Python programming and Modelling Business Processes, whilst also covering modules in Data Visualisation, Database Management and Agile Methodology.

Experience is not required but applicants must hold a degree in any discipline or have a Level 5 qualification in an IT-related discipline.

Upon completion of the programme, applicants may receive an offer of employment with Aflac NI. In addition, you will receive £150 training allowance per week plus travel expenses while you train.

If successful, you will receive a starting salary in the range of £25,000 to £27,000 per annum in addition to generous company benefits such as performance bonuses, private health insurance and extensive learning and development opportunities.  

The selection process will include an online psychometric assessment, CV shortlisting and an interview. Training for successful applicants will take place in Greater Belfast.

  • As part of the application process you will be prompted to upload a copy of your CV and qualification certificate/s. Failure to upload both documents or provide correct information will result in the termination of your application to the Aflac Pega Development Academy 
  • Applications must be submitted by Friday 15 November 2019 
  • An Information session will be held on Tuesday 3 December 2019 
  • Candidates must be available for interview week commencing 2 December 2019
  • Applicants must be available to take part on the Academy beginning on Monday 13 January 2020. Training will take place in Greater Belfast 
  • The training comprises of 9 weeks of classroom-based learning 
  • Candidates who successfully complete the training may have the opportunity of employment with Aflac Northern Ireland 
  • All correspondence will be via email, it is applicant's responsibility to act as required within the given time frame 
  • Participants who are currently on an existing Assured Skills Academy are not permitted to apply
