The Software Testers' Academy is a 14 week training programme to provide participants with the skills and experience required to take up exciting new opportunities in the ICT industry.
The Academy, supported by the Department for the Economy, has been developed by Belfast Metropolitan College in conjunction with local IT companies.
The Academy is split into 10 weeks college based training
at Belfast Metropolitan College’s e3 Campus and a four week work placement with
one of the participating companies. Successful Academy
participants will gain industry recognised training and experience
followed by an interview for a potential offer of employment with one of the companies.
do software testers do?
When software products such as large banking systems or mobile phone apps are being developed, they are designed to meet particular requirements. The role of the tester is to ensure that software systems work correctly, by testing them against these requirements and working with key stakeholders at every stage in the process.
Companies taking part include Applied Systems, Aurion Learning, Bazaarvoice, Core, First Derivatives plc, Fluent Technology, Made to Engage, SpotX and TheAppBuilder.
